The Greeting Committee at Bowery Ballroom in NYC
An indie pop band that rocks the F out and inspires people to fall in love.
by Ryan Buynak
While we were in NYC for what’s turning into our somewhat annual summer live show, it just so happens one of our recent guests, The Greeting Committee was doing a show at the iconic venue Bowery ballroom so we pulled some strings and got press passes (shoutout to Lydia Krumper of Girlie Action Media & Marketing).
Reality Bites!
The Greeting Committee come off as indie pop darlings, luring you in with sweet, timid indie melodies—like a Hipster Hansel and Gretel—and when they have you right where they want you…they rock the fuck out.
Their frontwoman, Maddie, is a star if we’ve ever seen one, and Pierce pierces this night twice as right. On this calendar day, it was also guitarist Noah’s birthday and he blew out all the candles with his shredding performance. It all made for miracles which were felt by the whole kissing crowd.
Like a future cult classic indie flick…
The outside world sucks, but inside the iconic Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where every night is Saturday night, it’s like we’re in an indie movie, and The Greeting Committee were plying their ballads to our existence. I felt 17 again for a brief second, and I hope people in the audience fell in love, and that’s where their respective movie(s) starts.
